Ok, first off, this was originally intended to celebrate the American Independence Day, but while I got it drawn and scanned before July 4th, I didn't get to finish coloring it until now. I partially blame Anime Expo, but hey, I wanted to go. ^_^
It's Liberty, as in the Statue of Liberty (yes, I be American), holding the Title of Liberty mentioned in Mormon scripture (yes, I be Mormon). For those who don't know what the Title of Liberty is, here's the explanation:
Captain Moroni, leader of the Nephite armies, tore his cloak and wrote upon it words to remind his people what they were fighting for, what they were defending. He put the rent piece of his coat on a pole and raised it to rally his people against an evil man who was conspiring to be king. The words on the banner were these: "In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children."
I thought it fitting to draw Liberty holding the Title of Liberty. ^_^;
The text on the banner itself is the words quoted above and in English on the picture. I merely typed them in a font that I thought looked like ancient writing.
I like how the sky and the rock came out, as well as Liberty herself, but I don't like the water. ::kicks the water:: I need to study more water pictures.
Anyway, happy belated-or-not Independence Day to anyone who celebrates it! And anyone who doesn't, for that matter. ^_^
And any flames I get for this (though I don't see why I'd get any) will be used to roast marshmallows.
