Commission Details

Sat Jan 31, 2009, 12:56 PM
I do frequently take commissions, and as such I am listing general commission details here. Prices are subject to change as necessary, though existing commission contracts will not be altered to match.

Drawing Commissions
My primary art form is drawing. I accept commissions for pictures as simple as a single chibi drawing or as complex as a fully-colored digital piece.

Chibi prices are for 5.5" x 8.5" paper. All other prices are for 8.5" x 11" paper. Alternate size papers will affect final price.

Chibis:
:bulletgreen: $5 1-2 characters
:bulletgreen: $2 per additional character
:bulletgreen: $2 for color
:bulletgreen: all backgrounds simple

B&W (pencils, charcoals, or ink, little to no shading):
:bulletblue: $10 1-2 characters
:bulletblue: $3 per additional character
:bulletblue: $5 for shading
:bulletblue: $5 for complex backgrounds

Color (colored pencils):
:bulletpurple: $20 1-2 characters
:bulletpurple: $5 per additional character
:bulletpurple: $5 for complex backgrounds

Color (digital coloring):
:bulletred: $30 1-2 characters
:bulletred: $5 per additional character
:bulletred: $7-10 for complex backgrounds (depends on complexity)
:bulletred: prices include high-resolution digital copy
:bulletred: physical prints may be shipped for a small additional cost (printing and shipping costs only)

*Prices do not include shipping and handling. All flat art is shipped in stiff photo mailers.

Fan Commissions
I also paint folding fans that are suitable for display or for keeping cool. Fans are painted in watercolors, and may include a tassel to hang from the handle of the fan.

Folding Fan Prices:
:bulletblue: $15 for simpler patterns (Example)
:bulletblue: $20 for complex patterns (Example)
:bulletblue: $5 for ornamental tassel (Example and Example)

*Prices do not include shipping and handling. All fans are shipped carefully packaged into a suitable box.

Terms
:bulletred: I do not draw erotic or homosexual art. I don't do nudity either, except in very rare circumstances (subject to discussion). I'm not that great at technology, such as mecha, cars, guns, etc., but am open to trying them. For anything else, I'm open to ideas and my willingness to do them will be on a case-by-case basis.

:bulletred: I retain all reproduction rights to commissioned works. You may not reprint commissioned work without these rights. I will consider selling reproduction rights for an additional fee. I will not reproduce commissions as prints without your consent, especially if the commission is of an original character. Unless you specify otherwise, I will display a copy of the finished commission in my gallery for others to see.

i just have a few things to ask here... if i get the kirin and snow background, will that be considered complex or still simple? please get back to me on this and i'll let you know what i can. you don't really have to put an ornament on the tassel unless you have one to go with it. that would be great if you do. if you don't, just put on an ordinary tassel; i won't be offended at all. :) talk to you later! :D
:iconah-kaziya:
For the background, it sounds like you want it snowing around the kirin? That sounds pretty simple to do. I haven't adjusted the color balance on some of the recent photos I've taken, but one had a pretty complex seaweed and coral background going on, which would cost extra. Every other fan I've done, though, would still be considered simple.

For the tassel, I think just a plain tassel looks dull, and I've yet to find a good material that hangs properly without some additional weight, so the tassel price includes an ornament by default. Really, the ornament is cheap and easy to do, so the price is still mostly covering the time and resources necessary to make the tassel and add the wire loop to the fan. So I would definitely add an ornament to the tassel. I think I've already got a good one for another kirin fan, and if not, I've got a trip to a local bead store planned soon.

I'm always glad to answer questions, so don't hesitate to ask. :)

lol! that's good! i think i'll go with that.

ok, that's fine if you feel like doing it. if it works better for you that way as well, that's good! :) it would be nice if you have a good kirin fan tassel. if not, you could probably find something that fits the fans detail, i presume...so, that's pretty much covered. lol! thanks a lot! :D

will do... now i just need to ask my mom about it and figure out the price. i know that you don't have it now or soon, but maybe you can estimate how much it will be? that'll be good to hear. if it's cheap enough then my mom will definitely go for it. :D
:iconah-kaziya:
The fan should be $20, including the tassel. If you live within the continental US, shipping should be $4.50, judging by how much it cost to send single fans to other people this past year (that includes buying the box to ship the fan in).

And do let me know what your mom says, either way. :)

k, she didn't say anything yet cuz she's too busy, but i will get an answer soon. thanks again! that's a very good price you got there! :) i'm in arkansas by the way, south arkansas. i'll give you more for shipping when i get the answer. :D
:iconah-kaziya:
South Arkansas should be just fine for shipping. Don't worry about more details there until I'm ready to send the fan (assuming you get permission).

I'm glad the price sounds good to you. :)
